Welcome to T-Ball

Often, a family’s first introduction to Little League® is in the Tee Ball program. Tee Ball is the entry level division for players, ages 4-7. The experience is grounded in fun, fitness, and fundamentals while also being a key to growing a child’s love for the game.

The Little League Tee Ball program provides volunteer coaches with everything they need to create an environment where players will learn the skills of the game, while having fun and staying active. Parents and legal guardians of Tee Ball players are crucial to the extension of the program, and their satisfaction is equally important to its success. The outreach and inclusion of this division sets the foundation for continued participation in the local Little League program.

Each Little Leaguer is required to play one season of Tee Ball before being eligible to be evaluated by the local league officials for consideration to advance to a higher division of Little League baseball or softball. The Tee Ball Division is co-ed, but may be structured as a baseball or softball program. Such a decision is made by the local league’s Board of Directors.

The use of a robust 10-week Tee Ball program benefits the players and volunteer coaches, who typically are younger parents with little experience as coaches/managers.

Tee Ball players use bats and balls (baseballs and softballs) designated specifically for use in this division. The roster size for a Tee Ball team averages 7-10 players, with a season featuring 1-2 practices per week with a single game played on weekends.

Parents are strongly encouraged to become involved in this entry level of Little League. After completing a Little League volunteer application and passing a required national background check, parents may become involved in practices, and be eligible as coaches, managers, umpires, local league board members and other volunteer positions within the league. Click Here for a complete selection of T-ball Equipment from Dick's Sporting Goods

Practice Clothes: Have your player wear clothes that they are comfortable in and that you don't mind getting dirty - for Pre-Season practices tennis shoes are ok - once games start we recommend investing in a pair of cleats

Uniforms:

During the Spring Season the GWMLL supplies a complete uniform that is yours to keep. Cap, Jersey, Baseball Pants, Belt or Socks (depending on pants style)

During the Fall Season the GWMLL supplies a only a Cap & Jersey also yours to keep. As the registration cost is roughly half of Spring, we rely on parents to supply baseball pants & socks for the Fall

DON'T FORGET! The most important thing that your player can bring is a good attitude and the desire to HAVE FUN!

Game Time!

Practice and Game schedules vary widely depending on what team and what division your player is in. In T-Ball we only play other teams in our home league at Rodes Park (which means that we don't inter-league with other surrounding leagues)

In general during the pre-season (the practice time before games start on opening day) you can plan on:

Event Day Start Time
Practice 1 Weekday 5:30pm for 1 hour
Practice 2 Saturday 9am to 2pm for 1 hour

Once Games Start (after opening Day) you can plan on:

Event Day Start Time
Practice 1 Weekday 5:30pm for 1 hour
Game 1 Saturday 9am to 12noon for 1 hour

T-Ball Under The Lights

T-Ball under the lights is our End Of Season send off! It is a really fun event for our "seasoned" T-Ballers.

T-ball Under the lights happens on the last Friday night of the season

We schedule games over on the baseball side of the park on "the big fields" late enough that we can turn on the lights and play a Big League game with all of the T-ball Teams

We'll collect a few fun facts about each player such as "Favorite Food", "Favorite Movie", "Favorite Sports Team" etc and as that player comes up to bat we'll play a walkup song and announce their name over the speakers and give the crowd one or two of the fun facts about that batter.

It's a great event, we can't wait to see you all there.
